Hi folks. So I am going to blame the heat for everything today. My adventures into using a tool I should have researched more lead to a small heart attack when I could not find all my comments from the entire time I've been blogging. I was not a happy lunatic. And we all know if the lunatic ain't happy, ain't nobody happy. Or maybe that's the momma, oh well, same thing in this household. You will be happy to know it's business as usual now. It's been removed and comments are back. I now being notified the way I like instead of only by email. So my heart is fine now. Until it started racing when I saw this:
Looks good right!! So good. Hope you try it out. Oh and don't forget the above picture and all others on this site have lead me to start another blog about trying to lose weight while still eating like a normal person. Possible, who knows, but I aim to find out. Feel free to pop by and watch the horror. Check it out here! Hope you enjoy my antics. Not sure I am losing any weight but I'm having fun.
Okay enough shameless plugging of my other blog. Just letting you know I will be shamelessly plugging your blogs soon. I am going to start doing two new things on here. Since the response to a call for people who might like their link posted in "Ice Cream Sundays" has been dismal, I have decided if the foodies won't come to the mountain (er, okay, not comfortable calling myself a mountain while trying to lose weight, lol) the mountain (cringe) will go to the foodies. I am going to find a few blogs posting ice cream I find drool worthy and will send people your way. Hope it send people in droves, I mean it is ice cream after all. I am also going to start a weekly pick of a handful of posts I love and send my followers your way. It's a great way to boost readership. I see a few foodies who do this and I like the idea of it. I think a community who support each other is such a lovely thing. We are always stronger together than alone. So hope you like the idea and don't be surprised if your blog pops up on the list. I am always stalking watching you.
Okay on to the recipe. Here you go folks. I am still searching for a device to make them printable. If anyone has any suggestions for that please let me know which ones are good and which ones are a pain in the butt like the stupid thing I added today.
Peach Almond Ice Cream:
Ingredients:
3 fresh peaches, washed and partially peeled, pit removed
1/4 cup almonds, chopped
3/4 cup whole milk
2/3 cup sugar
Pinch of salt
1 1/2 cups heavy cream, fellow Canucks use whipping cream, heavy is impossible to get here
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
Optional- toast another 1/4 cup of almonds for garnish
Directions:
In a food processor pulse your peaches and almonds until fine. Set aside. (note-I left some peel on the peaches for visual appeal)
Add milk, sugar, and salt to a bowl and whisk, or use stand mixer with whisk attachment and use low setting. Mix until sugar dissolves.
Now add the heavy/whipping cream, vanilla and almond extract and whisk again for a few minutes until well blended.
Add your peach and almond puree and mix until blended.
Cover the bowl and put in fridge for 1 to 2 hours. Leaving it overnight is fine as well.
Remove bowl from fridge and transfer everything to your ice cream maker chilled bowl.
Place on the machine.
Turn on and run for 15 to 20 minutes.
You can either serve immediately or put it in your freezer until ready. If freezing keep in mind to take it out 10 to 15 minutes before serving.
You can garnish with toasted almonds or anything your heart desires.
Enjoy with a smile!
Hope you enjoy and try this out. I took the strawberry recipe from the Cuisinart recipe booklet and tweaked it to be peach. Worked out really well. I have yet to try an egg recipe. They make me nervous.
Gotta get some sleep. The plan is to get up early and go to the barn before the heat is out of control. We'll see how that goes. Lol!
Edit- Took some pics this morning in the natural light. Still need to master the placement of stuff but these are a few of the shots I got.
Toodles and smoochies my friends! xx
Bad pic, was playing around with settings and experimenting.

Love having a food processor after a long time without one! So nice!
Yup, I have issues. Ocd much!!!
Looks good enough to eat with a spoon, not that anyone did that here. Nope, not me!
I did not notice that I even had a line to follow until I saw the photo. *cracks up*
Isn't this a cool shot? You can see the stuff splashing. Very cool!
Standard top with tinfoil for fridge routine down pat.
Experimenting with camera.
Funny how a bad angle makes the almonds look so dark.
I wish this one had been done with better lighting. I like everything else about it.
This would be my fave shot if I had decent lighting.

YUMMMY!!! This looks so good! Refreshing for the summer! I did not like almonds at all until recently. I love them now and I love them in dessert! Such a great combo of salty and sweet.

Oooooh, nice! Great idea u've got here, Kim Bee! Too bad I don't make my own ice-cream but I'm a big fan. Hahaha! I always stock them up in my fridge :)
ReplyDeleteDo hop over to see my latest post Hello Kitty Bento Box For A Friend’s Birthday!
Hey Kim Bee, I just took a look at your post on "OMG!!!!!!! I installed disqus and every comment is now gone from my blog. Help?!" & realized my comment is not there too.
ReplyDeleteI've left comments at the above yesterday & also at "What do you do with leftover kabobs?" the other day. Arghhhhh! I don't see my comments :<
Yup,everything we wrote while it was on here is gone. But luckily that's all I lost. I got back all the months of comments so 1 days worth is much better. Frustrating like crazy!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat recipe - thanks a lot! I'll be sure to be back for more.
ReplyDeleteI love the almond and peaches combination.. this ice-cream seems wonderful! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures, looks delicious!! Perfect for this heat wave we're having! :)
ReplyDeleteLovely, lovely flavour. Perfect for summer.
ReplyDeletePeach and almonds are a great combination. thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThat looks scrumptious! I have never eaten peach ice-cream before (peaches = not so easy to get hold of here). The almonds look like they compliment it beautifully!
ReplyDeleteGuiulietta- Thanks. It's so good.
ReplyDeleteKelly- Thanks, I know right. Way too hot.
Adora- Thank you.
Veronica- Thanks and you are so welcome. Love to share my food.
Juanita- Hey girl, that sucks. I love peaches, one of my faves. Your giftie is in the mail my dear!
Wow - looks delicious! I'm glad you were able to fix your computer glitch! The heat has been crazy this week!
ReplyDeleteCan't resist ice cream. Lovely flavour combo. You are obviously having fun with your camera. It's great when something 'clicks' and you start to get the shots you want.
ReplyDeleteYou can't go wrong with that flavor combination. Looks and sounds wonderfully refreshing, perfect for the weather. Thanks so much for sharing! =]

Ann- These computers are a constant pain in my rump. Two are new and they are the two we have trouble with. So hot, so sick of the hot, lol.
ReplyDeleteHester- Thank you. I just pulled out the manual for the camera so watch out world. Only took me about 7 or 8 years to get to it. Lol!
FreeSpiritEater- Thanks. I enjoyed this one immensely. Not sure what I'll do next, so many to choose from.
OMG you are too funny. Been there with the photos - still dealing with bad photos and light, ugh! Computers drive me nuts. And I haven't figured out the printable version for recipes yet either. But I do want to make ice cream (and maybe I'll be more successful!) and was just talking about that the other day with my daughter. Great recipe! Looks and sounds delish!!!
