Hi folks. I hope you are all enjoying your week. Looking forward to the long weekend I am sure. I know I am. I hope you didn't give up on me during my absence. Honestly could not be helped. Sometimes you just need to unplug and spend time with family. I don't get to see my brother and his family often so I really do like to make the most of it. I apologize for not visiting you as often as I normally do. And leaving witty comments. I did perpetrate some drive-bys but I figured it was better than not visiting at all.
So I must share my linky love for last week. As always I love to share who I read, who I bookmark. It makes me happy to spread the love. I find the foodie community to be a great place. Due to time constraints we can't all visit each other and find new blogs. So this just helps point you in the direction of a blogger you may not have know about. Which is always good. Stop in, follow them, say hello, make new friends. That is what community is all about.
Come September I am going to tweak this weekly post a bit. Nothing drastic, just need to make it a bit more user friendly for you and me. I will be introducing a new section which will feature new blogs I stumble across on my travels. I think this will be a great new addition to this series. I shall also be posting this on mondays from here on out. Usually I do it thursday but I find with that being errand, farm stand day that it just is not working for me. If I do it monday it will be easier to get it up on time and not be distracted or rushed.
So tomorrow if all goes well and weather holds out we are taking a road trip. Most of you know this but for those who don't I have a wicked case of IBS. That coupled with hubs having gone back to school and money being tight well we just don't travel much. Now that hubs is back working we thought we'd do a day trip. Test the waters a bit. See if my tummy will behave on a short road trip. We want to do a couple longer ones but need to experiment first. See if my body can handle it. So the plan, which could get waylaid between now and tomorrow, is to travel up to London for the day. It's about an hour and a half from us. There's a farmer's market up there, lots of malls. So I can get my beloved fruits and veggies, and mini-me can shop for some back to school supplies/clothes. We promise to bring the camera and take lots of photos to amuse you. B might come too and visit a friend up there. Not sure yet. Hubs has to work so it's just me and the hooligans. I am borrowing a friend's gps for the day. The goal is to have it go well so we can take a few other trips before winter hits. We want to go up to Palgrave next weekend to see mini-me's bff compete in a horse show. That one might not be possible though as mini-me might not be able to work out time off. Then the weekend after I am thinking of hitting St. Jacob's which is about 3/3 and 1/2 hours from us. It's an Amish type area with lots of shops/flea markets/farmer's markets. It's close to Elora and Elmira which also have great places to poke around. Then in October we are thinking of hitting Stratford and possibly Toronto. So cross your fingers, toes, eyes, legs, anything crossable this goes well. With my tummy issues one never knows. It's a real crapshoot. *sorry I could not help myself*
Okay enough crazy ramblings, on to the post you came to read. First here's a quick recap of my week or weekish as the case may be. Click the caption if it's something you missed and want to read.
Yup, busy week and a half. I think I have proved 3 things during this time.

2. My kids are as nuts as I am and they do exist.
3. Hubs is a nutball as well.
So there you have it. Ground breaking stuff here. Aren't you glad you read this blog?

But with everything going on the last week or so I just have not had the time. Shall make sure I am organized and on the ball for next weeks. So sorry to anyone who got a foodbuzz link posted, I was short on time this week.
Which reminds me I gotta run. Mini-me is heading over to friend's for a visit, sort of a see you off to University thing. A few of her friend's are going away to University so they've been having get together's to say their goodbyes. So sad, but part of life I suppose. There's a few she shall remain close with no matter where they end up.
So I am off. Hope you enjoyed this installment of Lunatic Loves. I shall see you all soon. Gotta run out that door, hopefully not into it a mad rush.
Toodles and smoochies. xx

Well you are back with a bang LOL some great links. Family time is really important
ReplyDeleteAs always a great week! Congratulations on making Top 9 TWICE! We follow a lot of the same folks, but there's one or two in there I need to visit....
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary and Happy Birthday to your hubby!
Thank you for again including me in your links;) I love your blog, your enthusiasm and love that you spread, warmth with which you write about your family, humor that you leave with me and you must be a great person overall;)
ReplyDelete@Mike- Lol, I don't do anything quietly or meekly do I? lol! Love family time. Gotta grab it while you can.
ReplyDelete@Ann- Still stunned over the garlic bread one. Lol. I hope you did find some new folks to check out. I love doing this every week. One of my faves. Thanks so much. We had cake two nights in a row. That cannot be good for the waistline.lol
@Dzoli- You are so welcome. And thanks so much. I will admit, I am pretty rad. *giggles*
Thanks for the share, I am still kinda new to the food blogging community so its always great to get recommendations on great blogs to follow and learn from. Thanks again!
ReplyDeleteHappy anniversary again and happy birthday again to your husband! I'm still so glad you had a good week with your family.
ReplyDeleteThank you for putting me in that group above. I'm honored. You have so many wonderful bloggers in there. I'm proud to be in their company.
Now to go bookmark a couple zillion of those pages :-D
My husband shares his birthday with our anniversary too...well sorta (2 days before) We did this on purpose since I share my birthday with christmas. I'm an even Steven's kind of girl.
ReplyDelete3 ice creams in one week?! Girl you are nuts! And I love it! Congrats on making top 9 TWICE! And, congrats on your anniversary! Great links, I love many of those blogs myself :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great week - congrats on 2 top 9s! Thanks for incluing my cupcakes in your list...that's so sweet of you. Happy Anniversary and B'day to your husband. :)
ReplyDeleteBoy, I hope you're able to make the short trip so you can venture out on longer ones. Hubby has IBS and we're constantly trying to find what the triggers are (other than stress). Lactose and alcohol are definitely two of them.
ReplyDeleteI'm loving that bowl of fruit.
You go all out don't you! Have a fun road trip.
ReplyDelete@Rita- I feel the same way. Still pretty new but I love this kind of thing. I always find new blogs to read when other people do it. So it's fun to spread the love.
ReplyDelete@Janet-Thanks my dear. You are so welcome. Of course I had to include you cuz you crack me up every day. Get those finger exercise going so your ready to click away.
@Gwenevere- That is cool yours is with xmas. I think it helps the guys remember. Yet we have been married so long we don't do the whole gift thing these days anyway. lol
@Beth Michelle- Clearly I have issues. Lol!Thanks so much.
@Alida- You are so welcome. They were killer cupcakes. I am fascinated when people take some healthy and flip it on it's head. Lol! Thanks, we had a fun filled week here.
@The Mom Chef- Going tomorrow. We had some car stuff to deal with today. So going to attempt it and see how I do. The last long trip was 2 years ago to Toronto which is 4 hours each way. Went okay but I didn't eat all day. This time I may attempt to eat. Alcohol is way off limits for me, it's my biggest trigger, as is pork and cheese. I eat cheese but limit how often. Caffeine is a huge trigger for most people. Stress is huge. My hubs got laid off, went back to school and we have had money stress for about 2 years during his school time. I've been a wreck needless to say. Even if I say it doesn't bother me, my body clearly lets me know it is. There's some good books at there. And a website I can dig the name up of if you're interested. I've had it for 16 years, long time.
@Sandra- I have problems. Serious problems. lol
Oh, this is such a fun post...your sense of humor cracks me up. Thanks so much for the mention...you made my day!!! Now off to check some of your links~
ReplyDeletePS...hope the trip goes well. Fingers crossed for no flare ups! xo
Great round-up as usual Kim! And I love that you are a family of self-proclaimed nuts...my son always says he has a very silly family and his mommy is the silliest of all. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the link love Kim! I've been busy this week, too... it's always crazy before Rosh Hashanah. So much to cook, so little time! Loved this post. And I want some of that mint chip ice cream, so please send me some via Fed Ex. Thank you very much! <3
ReplyDeleteHi Kim! I don't know where to start - so much to cover! First of all, congratulations on your wedding anniversary! And happy birthday to your hubby! Congrats on 2 Top 9s! Wow, what a celebration week for ya! Thanks for sharing all the delicious pictures (and your kids pic!). I need to check out pistachio post later on. Now I have to tell you how much I admire of you for helping connect bloggers and blogs in this community. I can tell it's not easy to do all this work, even once a week. After kids starting school I feel my time got even shorter, and I can't visit all the blogs in one day as much as I want to, and of course I can't explore new ones. I truly appreciate your links and help us connect. Also, thank you for mentioning my blog. :-) I hope you have a wonderful road trip, and wonderful 3 day weekend. It'll be catchup work for blog rather than relaxing for me. ;-)
ReplyDeleteGreat post! Gorgeous kids!! Thanks for the shout out. Hope you had a great trip! How jealous am I that you're so close to London!
ReplyDelete@Lizzy- Thanks. We had fun. Love cracking people up.
ReplyDelete@Kristy- Lol, it's the best way. I love being a bit nuts.
@Tori- Hey girl, you are welcome. I adore your blog so must share. I cannot wait to see what you cook up this weekend. Can fedex ship ice cream? Might be easier if you just fly down for an ice cream visit. lol
@Nami- Thanks so much. I love doing it. It is hard work but I think it's good to spread the love. I know some bloggers like you have young ones so this is a nice way to spread the word. I am going to start posting links for new discoveries as well. I think putting the new bloggers in touch with people will be good. Keep checking in, it's just moving to mondays now. And ice cream sundays will continue for about another month. I love doing that one.
@Dee- Hey chiquita, thanks so much. London Ontario is not as cool as London England.
