Going on a Road Trip

Hey folks. Just thought I'd pop on real quick to let you know we are doing a day trip tomorrow. We were suppose to go today but we had to get some stuff prepped to take the car out of town. You know, like plate renewals and e-tests. Hubs sort of forgot to do it on his birthday. Thank goodness when I switched the calendars last night it dawned on me. So we postponed the trip a day to make sure we were law abiding citizens. Dang you know you are getting old when you follow all the rules.

So what does this mean for you. Well it means I am going to be gone all day so I won't be posting. I know, I know, don't cry. It'll be okay. I will only be gone for the day. It also means I won't be commenting on your blogs. I know this is shocking news, Kim not commenting. Didn't she just take last weekend off? Who does she think she is, Madonna or something? I do apologize but I have one more week with my kids before they start university and they are both officially adults. I mean one already is but this makes it super official. My days as mommy as ending. I shall become ma. Oi, I can't take it. They are all grown up. It breaks my heart.

Sorry got sidetracked and all emotional on ya. Anyway I shall be gone all day then the next week will be hectic. But I am determined to get caught up and keep up. So I shall just be erratic for awhile. Now let's be clear, that erratic, not erotic. Make sure you know the difference. Could result in huge disappointment if you get those mixed up.

So you are all wondering what you will do without me for a day. Here's some suggestions:

1- You could bake me a cake and send it to me.
2- You could bake me some cookies and send them to me.
3- You could make me a pie and send it to me.
4- You could make me some candy and send it to me.
5- You could make sure I win ALL your giveaways and send them to me.

Do you see a theme? Okay seriously, here's some suggestions:

1- You could pet your cat. If you have a cat. If not you could borrow a cat. I don't think your neighbour would mind if you tell them it's for me.
2- You could go horseback riding and take pics of you falling out of the saddle. That is always a good time. Not so much for you. But for me it's funny. I fall often so there's no shame in it. Do it, seriously, it doesn't even hurt after the first 12 times.
3- You could prank call all your neighbours. Remember how fun that was when you were young. I mean how many people really have call display now, or know about *69?
4- You could come clean my oven for me. Now that is so much fun, it's so clean as I rarely cook. *stifles a giggle*
5- You could go see a movie, but if you do you have to toss popcorn at people in front of you. And take pics. And put them on youtube. Otherwise it's just no fun.
6- You could pick me some flowers. It's okay if you don't have a garden. Just go to your neighbour's again. I am quite certain little old ladies love when people pick their flowers. It's totally acceptable.
7- You could play monopoly but before you start make all the little hotels out of chocolate and then see how long the game lasts.
8- You could go cop a squat at the park. That is always a hoot. Unless there's no park near you. Then just use your neighbours yard. They won't even notice you there.
9- You could start christmas shopping early. I always do. But wear an elf costume to make it more fun. No one will pay any attention to you I promise. Be sure to bring a friend who has a camera. And then youtube it and mark it "for Kim".
10- You could make ice cream. Or buy ice cream. Hand it out to all the neighbours you just annoyed to try to make amends. But put pop rocks in it and don't tell them. Or hot sauce. I put that s*it on everything.

Okay folks I am off. Enjoy your day and I shall see you all real soon. Send us good vibes okay. It's just mini-me and myself going. Should be interesting. We've not trekked off this far solo before. So here's hoping mini-me can figure out how to use the gps I borrowed or we may be stopping in on some of you asking for a place to crash. It should be a fun day. We have to be back around dinner as mini-me has to work. So I should haul rump to bed, up in about 5 hours and off we go. Farmer's market, 2 malls. Woot woot. I am so bummed London has no Williams Sonoma though. It does however have a Sephora. Goodness help us all. I love me some makeup. And glitter. And sparkles. And shiny things. And....okay this could go on all night. Later folks.

Toodles and smoochies. xx

  5. Have a great day trip Kim! I can so empathize for you. I both look forward to the day my kids are grown and dread the day they are grown. I will miss them SO much, but can't wait to see how they grow as well. It's such a mixed bag. Give them lots and lots of extra hugs! :)

  6. @Ann- Thanks doll. Had a ball!

@Dzoli- Thanks. Lol, no kitchen stores today. I know it's shocking right. I may go to Toronto later this month so if I do (crosses fingers) I may pick up a few things for a giveaway. That store rocks. We don't have them here.

@Lizzy- Thanks, I got some cool sparkles. Woot woot.

@Gwenevere- Yikes, hard to travel in the heat without a/c. We had ours blasting today as it was about 100 out. 70 hours is long. We did cross Canada a few years ago. Was a blast.

@Kristy- Thanks so much. It really is a hard balance. I want them to grow up and move on but not leave me behind.

  7. Have a safe trip. Enjoy your time with your kids before the school year starts. Oh, and I'm sending you a hug!
I am going with your suggestions #1 and #10. One of the cats is sitting next to me as I type this, and ice cream is on the menu for tonight's desserts.
